The Support:

Support for tonight was delivered in the form of two local bands, the first being The Circus Ship, with an unnecessary doubtful-in-their-own-skill demeanour the hybrid genre they've created for themselves can cater for many different palettes with sweet tinges of punk, alt, soft rock in equal measures and proves to be very intriguing to new ears. We also had Team Player, an alt quintet from Glasgow whose charismatic frontman equipped with an impressive vocal range and the backing of a band that clearly knows what they're doing prepared you for the main event perfectly.

The Main Act:

Unaware if it's due to the fact that i've been subject to a string of mediocre live music experiences of late but D.I.D were a mesmerising surprise for this hopeful but fatigued gig goer. Chances are you'll not witness a better live act than this, their musicianship as a band is seriously underplayed on studio tracks and for once the sincerity found in their lyrics are not in any way lost in translation nor camouflaged under instrumentals if anything it's highlighted.
With a setlist comprising of tracks old and new you could expect echoing nostalgia in the sounds of "Talk Through The Night" and personal favourite "Teenage Daughter" with the surprise of newer tracks like "hotel" and teasings of more material to be released in coming months a maturing, brooding and sultry rock alter ego packed with real intense grit and tenderness on the vocals is really shining through. They are a collective of light and shade with the intricacies of their production.  Synchronised harmonies and movement takes shape to appear almost as a single unified being on stage and it's a real treat to watch unfold. They are a group that know how to interact fittingly with their crowd in fact hearing the words: "I want to try Buckfast, I've heard it's worse than crack" really promotes that for me. Though what still baffles me is how the bands frontman managed to depart from the stage mid-song to join the crowd and somehow appear back with no sight of his instrument appearing intriguingly nonchalant.
If you're looking for a band that'll give you brutal honest lyricism and understated charm then D.I.D is for you, they've really honed their craft and the tight unit they become when they perform is worth appreciating. I can guarantee their skill will catch you off guard.
